Artist of the Month
LESLIE SCOTT!
I'm Leslie Scott, a fused glass, PMC and metal clay artist. My artistic creations consist of my own handmade glass beads, fused glass, PMC (Precious Metal Clay) and the new copper and bronze clay. I create fine jewelry and kiln formed glass bowls and plates. I began my odyssey and love affair with glass in the late 1970's when I started a stained glass studio in Dublin, Ireland, with my Irish husband. Later finishing my Art degree, I was able to study glass fusing and greatly expand my glass knowledge. In 2001, after moving to Lancaster, PA, I learned how to make glass beads or lampworking. In 2004, I added a new dimension to my work when I became a Certified Artisan/Instructor of PMC, Precious Metal Clay. I now teach both glass fusing and PMC at HACC and local bead shops. I am a proud New Orleans native and after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, I began making a line of Hurricane jewelry that benefits my family and friends who lost everything in the storm.
